Evening Program Options Available
Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration
This program prepares individuals to apply theories and practices of criminal justice to structuring, managing, directing and controlling criminal justice agencies, including police departments, sheriff’s departments, law enforcement divisions and units, and private protective services.
Goals of the program are to provide knowledge and skills necessary for students interested in careers in criminal justice including: Police – State, County and Local Agencies, Criminal Investigator, Corrections Officer, Probation Officer, Parole Officer, Juvenile System, Private Security Officer.
Program Outcomes
- Explain the functions of law enforcement and corrections in the United States in terms of historical roots, structure and contemporary issues.
- Identify each step in the criminal justice process and critically analyze how a case proceeds through the system.
- Demonstrate knowledge of ethical practices in professional settings.
- Recognize how criminal justice professionals work effectively within a diverse society.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Identify causes and indicators of crime and their impact on the criminal justice system's response.
